Do you know the Andalusian Stitch? I’ve seen it before, and seen it referred to, but it’s new to me. Upon further investigation, I discovered that if you can knit and purl, you can do the Andalusian Stitch! While it seems like a “nothing fancy” stitch, it will bring a nice texture to your a dishcloth, afghan/throw, blanket, or as in today’s post, a green napkin.
Sarah E. White, the adorable, intrepid About.com Knitting Goddess, has a great article on how to incorporate this stitch to add dimension to your regular table napkins and help reduce waste by not using paper napkins.
Per Sarah’s instructions, here is the Andalusian Stitch:
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: *Knit 1, purl 1. Repeat from * across row.
Row 4: Purl.
How easy is that? Seriously! Go check out her article, and get a green table going!
