Three things I love the most in the world: cats, knitting, and Cantonese. The word for “cat” in both Cantonese and Mandarin is “mao” and the characters are very similar, too:
貓 = Cantonese
猫 = Mandarin
So here is a great knitting pattern for a very adorable cat from Petite Purls:

It calls for DPNs and an icord, but you can do my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TECHNIQUE, which is the Magic Loop. So go on and make a Mao for someone special! :)

Today is Worldwide Knit in Public Day, which starts today and goes through June 19th.
What are you going to knit in public today … and where? I think I’ll knit at a restaurant tonight, just because all of my knitting in public seems to revolve around doctor’s offices.

Knit Culture has two patterns that are just fabulous … a Haberdashery Jacket and a cowl to go with it!
(the above pic links to the jacket; if you’re interested in the Honey Cowl, click here)

Have fun with them!

Well, iKnitty.com just celebrated its one-year anniversary, and celebrated by getting the domain name held hostage by the registrar. Good times. After a few weeks of haggling, I think things are finally back to normal … a little. I’ll be revamping things and modifying the look a bit.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT… why not a beautiful little baby hat free pattern from Classic Elite Yarns? That makes me happy!

Precious. The pattern itself is in PDF so you’ll need a reader to view it. Enjoy!
